Riviera Hotel Benidorm A Best Seller

Our mystery man on the street takes a sneaky look at one of the top rated hotels in town RIVIERA BEACHOTEL 4*

Currently the number two hotel in Benidorm according to 700 trip advisor reviewers, our man on the street decided to check out the facilities and see if the hotel lives up to all those glowing reports putting it in the number two spot.

THE HOTEL

The hotel is located only a very short hop from the heart of the entertainment hub of Benidorm in the Rincon de Loix and only five minutes from the Levante beach making it in a perfect location.  Following a complete refurbishment from the ground up the Riviera Beachotel re-opened the doors just two years ago.  This is a modern and rather funky hotel with impressive architecture and some of the most stunning lighting effects which create a quite unique atmosphere once the sun goes down.

THE ROOMS

Everything is new with exactly what you would expect from a newly refurbished 4* hotel of this class.  Really comfy beds for a good sleep plus of course facilities such as a mini-bar, big flat screen TV, electronic safes, Wifi and nicely designed bathrooms and Ladies, yes there is a hair dryer.  Most rooms offer superb big walk-in showers.  Rooms are not massive but are very adequate and bright with soft lighting that creates a relaxing mood.  The room we saw offered a lovely feature round window too with excellent views of Benidorm from the terrace.  Overall very deserving of the 4* rating with little extras such as better quality fluffy towels and a decent selection of toiletries. Oh! And you really could eat of the floor, the cleaning was impeccable, a credit to those often forgotten housekeeping staff.

THE FOOD

This is where the Riviera really does come up trumps.  Friendly and happy staff (makes a change!).  Meals are served buffet style, but, with a superior choice to that served in some hotels!  Replenished often (keeping food fresh) with a great choice of salads, hot dishes and very much geared toward the high numbers of British guests who stay here this time of year.  This is reiterated time and again in many online reviews.  Breakfast will fill you up for the day!

THE POOL

Perhaps the only drawback is the hotel pool which is a tad small and tends to get little sunshine until the afternoon.  However, it is a really pleasant area to sit and the pool bar offers very cheap drink (the hotel do not charge 4* prices) and a snack menu that offers excellent value too, just in case you are still hungry after the massive breakfast.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

When compared to other hotels in Benidorm the Riviera Beachotel is small with just 99 rooms and is therefore not going to be overly crowded at meal times, around the pool or in the bar during the daytime.  The terrace bar is open to the public and is a popular place at night due to the low prices (Bucket of 5 bottles of beer from only 4.50€) and entertainment so grab a seat early!  This is now a top selling hotel in Benidorm and should be booked as early as possible to ensure you get a room.  Guests staying here get up to 25% off at the Western Saloon, Morgan Tavern and the UK Comedy Club.

A typical 1970´s building lovingly refurbished, we liked very much. Book this and over 400 Benidorm and Costa Blanca hotels by visiting realbenidorm.net

Playa Levante, Rincon de Loix by day is what Benidorm is all about.  Yes it is a bit tacky in places and may not be everyone´s cup of tea, but one thing is for sure, you can get a nice cup of tea, fish and chips, pint of the black stuff and build a sand castle on a day trip to the Benidorm sands!
