From yummy CUPCAKES to Adidas FAKES

Benidorm Sunday & Wednesday Market has it all and more.

Benidorm Market

The vast market located on the edge of Benidorm in the Rincon de Loix and it is vast, offers everything you could want in a bargain basement sort of way!  Even the most demanding deal conscious shopper should find plenty of happy stall holders willing to exchange your Euros for some look-a-like designer gear or a cheap handbag or two!

There is more to the infamous Benidorm market than meets the eye.  This is no ordinary market place, here you can enjoy a good few hours putting to rest those animal hunting instincts we all have and forage for treats to eat, clothes to wear and sneak up on some bargain booty hidden among row after row of stalls.

Benidorm Market

Of course there are the staple stalls found in every market such as long established fruit and veg businesses and sellers of pic-n-mix nuts, dried fruits and olives galore.  If cheap leather is your thing and brown is your colour!  You will find a dozen stalls retailing 50 shades of brown coats, bags, shoes, belts of course and even leather hats just like the traveller community wear.

Holidays in BenidormAt the back of the market are the cafeteria bars, which you will need after seemingly endless miles of walking up and down the market in the search of those special offers.  Enjoy burgers, beers and even Cupcakes or just a coffee then sit and watch the world go by.

Benidorm Sunday Market

Benidorm market is like Woolworth used to be, pile it high and sell it cheap.  They certainly do and despite a number of stalls arguably selling mainly tatty stuff, if you are keen eyed and enjoy a good routing there are many genuine bargains to be found.  Even the fake Adidas appear quite well made and would probably fool Adidas!  And those Cupcakes are quite delicious.

Bunches Flowers by PostWhatever your impression, Benidorm market has been around almost as long as Benidorm and is a must visit place either on Wednesday or Sunday.  There is a great atmosphere, it is busy and almost everyone seems to leave with arms full of carrier bags.  Get there early and remember it is all over by 2pm.  Keep a keen eye on your valuables as there are always a few Artful Dodger types willing to pick a pocket or two!

Saturday Market Benidorm La Cala Finestrat

La Cala Finestrat Saturday Market near Benidorm has it all and more…..

The Saturday morning market in the bay at La Cala Finestrat just up the road by Bus from Benidorm, has gone from strength to strength over the last couple of years.  What was once a tiny and rather dull little market selling the usual range of shoes and handbags has grown into a fine place to buy fresh local Spanish fruit and vegetables, plus cheese, bread, and of course hams and delicious sliced sausages of all types.

This is a happy market, there is not the overkill found in the large Benidorm market which allow too many of the same type of stall.  Here you will not find stall after stall all selling exactly the same thing.  The pitch holders do not have that look of desperation often seen in other markets.  There is a real feel of a local market frequented by people who live locally and not just a tourist trap kind of place.  This market really deserves support, it is great.

You will find real variety here with a great mix of food, clothes and of course those obligatory look like the real thing handbags!  You will not find those horrible “brown shoes only” stalls, instead you will find smart modern (mostly fake) branded shoes for men and sparkly big Cha Cha heel shoes for ladies.

There are several of each type of stall, but each seems to sell very different stock.  You will find really good handmade costume jewellery, a wonderful stall selling every type of olive you could imagine.  There are beautifully colourful vegetable stalls, date stalls, melon stalls, fresh baked bread and simple seasonal cherry stalls.  You can buy quality rugs, cheap knickers, beach beds, art and leather.  For the peckish, enjoy a couple of makeshift cafés and a couple of popular ready to go spit roasted chicken vendors who will chop it, skin it and box it ready to eat (always big queues).

Book Now!

It is a real pleasure to spend a few hours here.  Easy to park or take the regular bus No.2 or No.3 from central Benidorm.  After a trip to this authentic local market there is a great beach to enjoy a dip in the sea or hop on the bus back to Benidorm old town for an authentic Spanish late lunch.  Whatever YOU do, enjoy YOUR break in La Cala and why not book one of the best hotels in town too staying right on the beach.  SEE THE FANTASTIC LA CALA BEACH HOTEL Click Now!
