Our mystery man on the street took a sneaky look at the very popular
MELIA HOTEL Levante, a quality 4* from a trusted brand.
Regarded as one of the best hotels in Benidorm, the Melia certainly lives up
to the name in terms of facilities on offer. The vast lagoon style pools and
they are vast, are a probably one of the number one reasons for booking
this smart hotel, together of course with the fact that the hotel is operated
by one of the most recognised hotel brands.
A big modern hotel with stunning hanging gardens in one of the largest
reception areas in Benidorm! A fantastic guest lounge, café bar and the
hotel restaurant are reached from this area as are those fabulous pools
and gardens. In summer guests can enjoy three additional bars including
the poolside Palapa bar.
Offering 524 rooms including 30 deluxe and 6 junior suites over 23 floors.
Rooms here are not the usual tourist type found in so many resort based
hotels. Furnishings and in room facilities here are more a kin to a city
business hotel. All standard rooms have balconies with deluxe rooms and
suites offering the best pool and garden views, bigger terraces and much
more space. Facilities include 32” LCD TV, wifi, mini-bar a full bathroom,
furnished terrace and large room safe which will take a laptop. In the event
you may feel peckish at 3am, rooms service is 24 hours.
Served buffet style in the large bright El Curt restaurant which also
overlooks the pool. A massive breakfast is served until a rather civilised
10.30am with lunch until 3.30pm and evening meals until 10pm. There is of
course plenty of choice, with show cooking (lots cooked to order) and
different theme nights too. Above average quality as you would except
Set amongst lavish tropical gardens the two lagoon pools are quite
fantastic. Loads of sunbeds and secluded areas making it easy to find
some me space! In winter there is a bigger than average heated pool which
is on the same level as the gardens. Without doubt the outside spaces are
a real asset to the hotel and immaculate too.
What You Should Know
The hotel is located in the Rincon de Loix a little over 600m from the main
Levante beach with no hills along the way. A vast hotel with lots of space to
relax both inside and outside. Loads of guests seemed to be regulars a
good review in itself. Rooms are nicely kept with good housekeeping and
offer very comfy beds. Tends to attract more couples over 40 rather than a
young crowd and is not on the stag or hen circuit, gladly! The Melia is a
known brand and this one delivers all you expect.
